Notice No 8 - Race areas on August 25^th, 2018

The first race of the day will be held in the course area A on windward/leeward course.

The course of the second race of the day will be as follows:

Start in course area A - mark 1 – 1a upwind from starting line - mark 2 near Vansu bridge – mark 3 in front of the venue – finish upstream of mark 3.

Marks 1, 1a, 2 and 3 will be yellow inflatable buoys. 

All marks to be left port.

Starting marks will be the race committee signal vessel at the starboard end and a pin-end boat port end.

Finishing marks will be the race committee signal vessel at the port end and a pin-end boat at the starboard end.

Notice No 7 - Schedule for August 25th, 2018

Only costal races are scheduled for August 25^th, 2018 on the river Daugava.

The course will be posted by August 25^th, 08:30 a.m.

Notice No 6 - Changes of Sailing Instructions

Change of Protest Time Limit

Add at end of SI 14.2. “If last race of any day will be a Costal/Inshore race, Protest Time limit of that day will be 45 minutes after the  last  boat  has  finished  the  last  race  of  the  day  or  the  race  committee  signals  no  more  racing  today,  whichever  is  later.”

Notice No 3 - Change of Sailing Instructions

Amend [DP] into Sailing Instructions 1.3

Delete SI3 and replace as follow:

Any change to the Sailing Instructions will be posted not later than 2h30’ before it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted before 20:00 on the previous day it will take effect.

Add 1.6: Penalty systems: For the Platu 25 Class RRS 44.1 is changed so that the two-turns penalty is replaced by the One turn- Penalty.

Add 25.1: Radio communication with Race Committee during the regatta will be on VHF channel 68. The Race Committee may give verbal confirmation of any race signal over VHF Channel 68. Failure to make a broadcast or to time it accurately will not be grounds for redress. This changes RRS 62.1(a).

Delete SI14.3 and replace as follow:

Notices will be posted no later than 30 minutes after the protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or named as witnesses. Hearings will be held in the protest room, located in the floating house near the Race Office.

Notice No 2 - Coastal Race Course / Practice Race

The Practice Race on August 20^th, 2018 is Coastal Race on the river Daugava next to event venue

Marks 1 and 2 will be yellow inflatable buoys.

Starting marks will be the race committee signal vessel at the starboard end and a pin-end boat port end.

Finishing marks will be the race committee signal vessel at the port end and a pin-end boat at the starboard end.

The course shown the scheme below shows the order in which marks are to be passed, and the side on which each mark is to be left.

The course will be: Start – 1 – 2 – 1 – Finish.

Notice No 1 - Changes of Sailing Instructions

Add SI 1.5 : RRS Appendix P apply

Delete SI 2 and replace as follow: “2 - Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located near the Measurement Office (Riga Sport Sailing Center) and copied on www.platuworlds2018.com. Failing to copy on the web site will not be ground for redress by boats. This changes 60.1(a).

SI 5.2 last paragraph is deleted and replaced as follow: One extra race per day may be sailed, provided that event does not become ahead of the schedule and the change is made according to SI 3.

Add SI 8.3: In case of Coastal Race the course and the order which marks are to be passed, will be posted on the ONB not later than 09:00 on the day that it applies.

Delete SI 9.1 and replace as follow: Marks 1, 1a, 3S and 3P will be yellow inflatable buoys

Delete SI 15.1 and replace as follow: Windward/leeward and Coastal races are scheduled

Delete SI 17.2 and replace as follow: Competitors not intending to race shall inform the Race

Committee or Race Office. [DP]

Delete SI 14.5 and replace as follow: Breaches of SI-s 17, 20 and 21 will not be grounds for a protest by a boat. This changes RRS 60.1(a).
